Sheer Madness

I'm in love with sheer shirts. (But you already know that.) And even though it's warm (wait.. HOT!), these sleeves are lovely for keeping away mosquitos. (Madness!) Yet, this shirt has such an elegant flow that brings such a feminine touch.

This week was majorly hectic. Running around trying to find the perfect gift for The Mister, my first photography gig, my cousin going away on military leave, ongoing emails, and making appearances at events were a bit stressful. The Mister NEVER knows what he wants, but managed to tell me last minute which I was grateful for. I'm the type of gift giver that gives you EXACTLY what you want. I've had bad experiences with buying things you THINK the person will like. As far as my photography gig, I was super nervous but managed to make the best of it. I will soon be offering services and making this a new business venture, so be on the lookout! :) And my cousin is pretty much my brother and its nerve racking knowing how he'll be gone for some time. Please keep our family in your prayers!

Anywho, I've rambled enough tonight. Hello to my new friends who follow the blog! Hope you all have a fab weekend!

Houston Loves Fashion

This spring/summer there has been major fashion additions to the Houston area and I'm loving every bit of it! Today, Henri Bendel has come to the Houston Galleria. Make sure you go stop by and see what Henri Bendel has to offer. I can't wait to get my hands on a scarf and candle. Click here for more info on the new store.

Well Houston, you said one H&M store wasn't enough. Willowbrook Mall will be opening a new store on June 28th at 12pm! If you weren't able to get your hands on the items you wanted in Baybrook, make sure you arrive EARLY at Willowbrook. There are major giveaways going on as well for H&M Houston. Click here and here!

Accessories are must haves in your wardrobe. You can't deny that your fabulous all black attire doesn't need your neon statement necklace. I'm excited to share that Versona Accessories is coming to Houston also on June 28th! I'll be in the mix there as well.

I want to recognize my new followers to my blog! Thanks for your support and I am always looking for feedback! Let's become friends!

Crochet + Cellfolio

I seriously can't stand hauling a purse sometimes, especially during events. Conversing with friends, meeting new people, and lugging an awkward bag around is quite uncomfortable. It can be such a hassle to keep up with one more thing in a crowded space. And to fix the problem, the solution would be to just carry your phone, wallet, and keys, but my wallet is huge which makes me want to just carry the purse.

Of course someone had a wonderful idea to create a stylish phone holder that you didn't mind carrying and letting anyone see. It holds your cellphone, credit cards, and even business cards. Jamie James, creator of the Jamie James Cellfolio, came up with this idea due to her struggles of her busy life. She created these stylish cell phone holders with the working and busy person in mind. And since Father's Day is coming up, they even have styles for men. Click here to check them out and tell them I sent you!

I'd been searching and searching for a black crochet crop top, and was uber excited when I found one from Express. But I decided to keep looking in hopes I would find another one for a better price and I did! The crochet top I'm wearing was $7 dollars! I consider myself lucky with this bargain!

I Miss Boston.

Lately, I have been waking up thinking I'm in Boston. Feeling the urge to get dressed and walk down Newbury or Bolyston just to relax. As I sit here, I'm looking at old pictures to make sure I don't forget what it looks like and the wonderful people I've met. I noticed that I hadn't posted pictures of my last days there. So, here's something a little different.

These last couple of pictures were taken from my sorority sister's engagement dinner and my 'Going Away' dinner. We had so much fun salsa dancing and reminiscing over old times. Moving across country was actually pretty hard, but everyone I met made me feel at home.

I'll be visiting soon and don't forget me!

Resort Ready

I am so ready to place my feet in the sand, feel the cool breeze near the ocean, and eat as much food as I want. The Mister and I are planning where we want to go this summer but we're still indecisive. Since I'm eager to go, I needed a little brightness in my life. And to top it off, I'm not into wearing makeup! It's so hot I don't want to be bothered with it. Thank goodness that side braid is the new trend cause I'm not for curlers either. Its cute, easy, and heat free!

Brilliant Brand: H&M Grand Opening in Houston with Nicole Christie

I must say I was a bit disappointed moving here when I realize there was no H&M in sight. Not remembering that in my younger years, I'd never seen one in the South anyway. Boston opened me up to H&M and to say the least I was pretty obsessed with the store. You've seen me feature a lot of H&M's pieces here so you can tell I had a problem. :)

I had already planned to be in line at 5am just to be the first to walk in the store, but lo and behold an email in my inbox from H&M asking me to come to their opening breakfast to view the store before the public, shop, and also interview Nicole Christie from NBC Fashion Star. I was giddy like a teeny bopper who was about to meet Justin Beiber.

As I walked through the back doors of the beautiful decorated 20,000-square-foot store, I instantly saw Nicole Christie which made me a little nervous. I began to take a few pictures of the store and see the breakfast laid out for us and thought, "It's finally here!" Then NC approached me like she had already met me. She complimented my outfit Personable, stylish, and comfortable are words that describe her. Here's our little chat:

BoB: I'm a Fashion Star fanatic and you did absolutely great. If you could pick a designer to design solely for H&M which would you pick? Only one.
NC: Thank you! Only one?
BoB: Okay, I'll push it to two.
NC: I would pick Kara and I would pick Sarah.
BoB: Really?
NC: OH, and I would pick Nzimiro because he's menswear. Ok, let me stop because the more I say it the more I'll add on.

BoB: So watching the show, we got to see hand-picked designers, how does the process really work for designers to showcase their designs for H&M?
NC: Our design department is based in Stockholm. So we have about 140 designers who design everything you see (in the store). We hire designers from all over the world. People who are willing to relocate and work in Stockholm because that's where all the creativity is. That's the Mothership. From design schools, we hire people who have been working professional in the industry for years. And we are always looking for designers with a new and fresh view point that can push H&M to the next level and add to our assortment and compliment what we already have.

NC: So you have to move to Stockholm or be on the next Fashion Star.
BoB: When is that actually? (Fashion Star)
NC: I don't know. They are still talking about it.
BoB: And you will be apart of the show?
NC: I would love to, if that opportunity presents itself, but I think the most important thing is the response we've gotten from the first season. People have been so happy to learn about what H&M does as a brand. To see how we make decisions on what to put in the store and sell to them. Having all those conversations to come public has been amazing. We've gotten such a great reaction to it.

BoB: I love the Spring/Summer Collection here in the store.
NC: I know right! I'm so ready to shop. I've already seen items I want!

BoB: I'm pushing to the Fall already. What can we expect?
NC: Fall is going to be great. We just did our open house in NY. For the Fall trends, we really believed in focus on luxurious fabrics. Brocade, tweeds, embellishments, stones, and rich colors like burgundy, rich charcoals. That's the first look at Fall!

They are planning a big expansion in the South and West Coast. Online shopping should be coming in the Fall, as well. If you knew about Versace for H&M, they do plan to collaborate with another designer for their online showcase. Can't wait to see who the designer is! Be on the look out!

Sophia and Robert were the first in line at H&M Houston. Sophia has shopped at the Dallas location as well as the San Francisco. Aren't they cute?
