Animal Instinct

Hey Dears! I hope you all had a good weekend. I didn't go to any Halloween parties this year. Partly due to not really being interested but it was fun seeing costumes on Twitter and Instagram.

I've been dying to have an animal print blazer since last Fall, but the Zara one I wanted was way too expensive. Cato Fashions contacted me to go take a look at their new Fall collection and I was elated when I saw this cheetah print blazer. I was glad that the material was perfect for the Houston Fall weather. Not to thick or thin! They also have a very affordable jewelry. I purchased some adorable clustered pearl earrings that I'm wearing non-stop.

A lot of people I know wouldn't dare wear black and brown together, but in this look the colors compliment each other in the correct places. Notice that my brown pieces are all accessories such as my shoes and bag. The blazer gives my all black ensemble a little life!

Denim x Denim

Hello dears! This oversized denim top was a great find. I'd been searching for one in my local thrift stores, but came across this one at H&M and thought I couldn't pass this one up. Still at a great price of course. I wore this top in another post in a more casual way. I wanted to make this look casual but with a pop of color for a bit of interest. This look would be perfect for a day of shopping or brunch with friends.

Any who, I've been very short on words lately. (Hence my lack of posts.) Partly, because I'm a bit stressed at the moment. My mind is filled with concerns and things that I need to find an answer for. I ask that you guys pray for my internal struggles.

What I have been using lately to help me calm my nerves is Brandy's new album, Two Eleven. I LOVE IT! The album has a mixture of song writers and producers that worked on the album with Brandy that gave a fresh feeling to her come back as an artist.

Have you heard this album? What do you think?

Saks Fifth Ave: Lafayette 148 NY Fall 2012 Collection

Hey dears! Feels like I haven't posted in forever! Took a quick trip to Las Vegas with a few friends and had an awesome time. Since I've been back, it's been lazy central for me. Resting and relaxation has been on my mind since I returned to Texas. But I shall have a few outfits in store for you next week.

I was invited to attend a fashion preview of Lafayette 148 NY at Saks Fifth Ave. Galleria Houston. I was so excited to see this collection and knew it would be filled with bold colors and graphic prints.
Trenches, oversized coats, fur, and leather were the highlight of the collection that the everyday woman would enjoy.

Designer of Lafayette 148 NY, Edward Wilkerson, made an appearance at the runway show. He has also curated and designed pieces for Anne Klein & Co. and Donna Karan.
The WEAR NOW section in Saks, where Lafayette 148 NY pieces are located, were filled with supporters for UNCF & UNCF Bright Night Sizzling Light Gala chair Merele Yarborough was the Emcee for the night.

What do you think of the collection? Which was your favorite?
